Last Day

Yesterday was Brent's last day of kindergarten. I think we were both ready for summer vacation! Brent wanted his hair "spiky". . .not sure if it turned out the way he wanted, but I think it was cute!

Andrew's 31st Birthday

Monday is Andrew's 31st Birthday, but we celebrated on Saturday. The morning began with banana waffles, eggs, sausage and orange juice, followed by opening presents, because Andrew has no patience. Then per Andrew's request we went on a hike around Cougar Mountain trails. Afterwards we went out to dinner at a resturant of his choosing. Overall I think it was a pretty good day and everyone had a lot of fun, especially Andrew.

Andrew brought a map, which was a really good idea because you could easily get turned around on these trails.

About 5 minutes into the hike Brent insisted he was tired and needed a walking stick. . .I think that stick weighed more than he did. We quickly found him a better walking stick.

This was the first time this year that Anna was able to wear her sunglasses. She is super cute!

Brent and Anna loved playing in the mud. By the end of the day their feet and legs were covered in it. . .just a sign that they had a really great time!

Anna got to walk Toby part of the way. Brent and her had a great time running with him. . .Toby enjoyed it too!

This picture was just too cute to leave out!

At the end of one of our trails was this pretty waterfall.

This trail was the reason Andrew wanted to come hiking here. It is called Indian Trail and it has been in use for over 8000 years. (Yes that is the correct number of zero's).

A Piece of Cake

So a couple weekends ago we had a "baking day" and the kids made themselves a mini cake and got to decorate it however they wanted. Brent made a green cake and Anna made a pink one. Then we had many colors of frosting and sprinkles and candies to put on top. Once they were done with the cakes I let them eat it. They took maybe 2 or 3 bites and then said they didn't like the cakes and wouldn't eat the rest of it. . .I think they were a little too sweet! It was fun anyways!

Disney World

Last week we went to Disney World for a Wahlquist family reunion. We had a blast! Here are some of the pictures of the fun we had. . .

Yep that is my husband! :)

We were able to have a Character Lunch, where Disney characters, mostly princess, would come around and give autographs and let us take pictures of the kids with them. They got to meet Ariel, Jasmine, Alice, Snow White and Belle. It was a lot of fun!

Brent and his cousin Max had had enough walking for the day, notice the matching shorts and Star Wars t-shirts. . . :) That was not done on purpose.

At Disney Hollywood Studios they had a whole Star Wars area. . .needless to say that was Brent's favorite!

Winter Camping

You know you have lived in Seattle too long when you hear that it is suppose to be 60 degrees Friday and Saturday and you decide to go camping because it is soooo warm! Not that it gets that cold here in the winter. . .usually doesn't get below freezing. . .but then again the summers are not that warm either, not usually getting above 80. Anyways two weeks ago we were expecting a beautiful weekend and decided to get out and do some winter camping. During the day it was beautiful and not too cold. . .but at night and in the morning it was VERY cold. We came prepared with layered clothes and lots of blankets so we kept warm the whole time and it was a really fun trip!

Brent and Anna were warming their feet by the fire, while waiting for breakfast.

We had gloves but the kids thought it was much more fun to wear their warm fuzzy socks on their hands.

We were camping up in the mountains so there was still snow on the ground in some areas. Andrew had us all looking around for firewood and kindling. Brent found these "pineapples", as he called them to help build the fire.

Brent and Anna found a tree that was bent over and had a lot of fun using it as a horse.

At times I had a hard time finding Toby because he blended so well with the background.

We went on a little 2 mile hike and saw some very beautiful sites! Here are a couple of them, but my camera did not do them justice!

Toby and the kids taking a little water break. . .though the kids didn't drink any of it, they just threw rocks. . .

This is where the hike ended. It was gorgeous waterfall with a small rainbow at the bottom. It was definitely worth the trip down there!

Crazy Hair Day

Anna had "crazy hair day" at her Daycare and here is a picture of how it turned out. . .

If you look really close you can see the green and blue streaks we put in her hair. It was pretty fun to do!

Day at the Park

One of my favorite things about Washington, at least where we live, is the parks. There are so many of them! Today we found a new park about 15 minutes from our house that will probably be a new favorite. It had farm animals, swings, and nature trails that were beatuiful!

We went to the park with Brent's best friend Mal. The kids were standing as close to the turkey, that was wandering the park, as they dared!

Brent and Anna are checking out the horses. Most of the pictures I was able to get was of the backside of the kids looking at all the animals.

Brent and Anna walking hand in hand down a path that lead to the ponies.

Brent and Anna kept trying to feed the pony grass. I think the ponies were their favorite. They were able to get up close and pet them.

Brent and Anna really enjoyed the tire swing. . .oh to be young and not get dizzy or want to throw up after spinning around and around and around!

This is a picture of part of our nature walk. . .Washington is really a very beautiful place!
